After a gap of three years, Dileep is back with a bang, with big projects in his kitty. With Voice of Sathyanathan set to hit theatres on July 28, the actor is also gearing up for his other film, Bandra.
Now, the latest update is that Dileep will play the dual roles of father and son in the film He and She, in which Mamta Mohandas has been signed on as the female lead. Nyla Usha is reportedly in talks to play the second heroine.
Dileep and Mamta, who were a successful pair onscreen, are set to reunite in the film after Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel. They had also collaborated on films like Passenger, Two Countries, and My Boss.
Lyca Productions, which has bankrolled movies like RRR and Ponniyin Selvan, is touted to back He and She. The launch of the film is expected to be a grand event slated to be held later this year, with South India’s major technicians rumoured to be a part of it.
Scripted by Raffi, the film has been planned on a grand scale with a successful director at its helm.
Raffi-Mecartin’s films have played a big role in boosting Dileep’s career. These include films like Punjabi House, Thenkasipattanam, and Pandippada, which boosted Dileep's popularity. Raffi then collaborated with Dileep as a director on China Town and Ringmaster. He also wrote the screenplay and dialogue for Two Countries, which was one of the biggest hits of Dileep's career.
Voice of Sathyanathan is Dileep's first theatrical release in three years. His last film to release in theatres was My Santa in 2019. Dileep's last release was the film Keshu Ee Veedinte Naadhan, which was a direct-to-OTT release.
Voice of Sathyanathan has a star-studded cast that includes Joju George, Anupam Kher, Jagapathi Babu, and Makarand Deshpande.
Meanwhile, Dileep’s 148th movie will be with Udal director Ratheesh Reghunandan. According to reports, Neeta Pillai will play the female lead in the yet-to-be-titled film.
