Director Raffi’s Voice of Sathyanathan went on floors on Vijayadashami day in Kochi. The movie, which stars Dileep, Joju George and Veena Nandakumar in central roles, marks the collaboration of Dileep and Raffi after a gap of six years.

The team began the shoot by observing a moment of silence for Nedumudi Venu, who passed away on Monday. Raffi's brother Shafi switched on the camera for the first scene featuring Dileep and Veena.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Raffi, who last teamed up with the actor for the family entertainer Two Countries, told us, “Dileep’s character Sathyanathan runs an old furniture shop in a village where the movie’s story is set. He is a people pleaser, who flatters people and doesn’t often speak the truth. He only says things that others are happy to hear.”

The director also said that unlike their previous collaborations, the movie deals with a serious subject even though it is laced with humour elements. The movie, which is co-produced by Dileep, Badusha NM, Shinoy Mathew and Prijin JP, has music by Joji and Thaneermathan Dinangal’s Justin Varghese. Apart from Kochi, the movie will also be shot in Palakkad, Mumbai and Delhi. Joju George’s character in the film has been kept under wraps as it contributes to the suspense of the film, the director had earlier told us.

Dileep, meanwhile, has also wrapped up the shoot of Nadirshah’s Kesu Ee Veedinte Nathan, which has him in the role of a 68-year-old. The actor is next expected to team up with director B Unnikrishnan for a movie, scripted by Udaykrishna. Unnikrishnan and Udaykrishna had last collaborated for Mohanlal’s Aaraattu, which is expected to hit theatres in November. The film is a “mass” action-entertainer with Mohanlal playing the character of a real-estate tycoon named Neyyattinkara Gopan.
