Anushka Sen, Kush Jotwani and Tanvi Azmi star in Dil Dosti Dilemma, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 25. Based on Andaleeb Wajid’s 2016 novel Asmara’s Summer, the series follows the life journey of Asmara (played by Anushka), who is forced to live with her grandparents after committing a mistake. The series is about how Asmara deals with her new surroundings while making peace with her grandparents' strict rules.

Dil Dosti Dilemma trailer

The trailer starts by giving a glimpse into Asmara’s life in Mumbai, which is all about looking good and living a lavish lifestyle. Asmara, a teenage girl who aspires to go to Canada for her graduation, ends up living in her nani’s (maternal grandmother's) house in small-town North India because of a mistake she made. In contrast to her lavish city life, she now has to live in an ancestral house with her strict grandparents. Asmara rebels, ridicules her grandparents, and lies to her friends about living in Canada.

Dil Dosti Dilemma's plot

Dil Dosti Dilemma is the coming-of-age tale of a teenage girl named Asmara, whose life turns upside down when she finds herself living in her nani’s ancestral home. As a form of rebellion against age-old norms at her grandparents' house, Asmara ridicules them in front of their neighbours. She even lies to her friends about having moved to Canada instead of her grandparents'.

As Asmara fights against her own family, she realises what it really is to be happy when she meets Farzan, with whom she has a romantic connection.

Cast and crew

Helmed by Debbie Rao, the adapted screenplay is written by Anuradha Tiwari, Bugs Bhargava Krishna, Raghav Dutt and Manjiri Pupala. Anushka Sen plays the role of Asmara, while Tanvi Azmi plays Asmara’s grandmother. Shishir Sharma plays Asmara’s grandfather and Kush Jotwani plays her love interest.
