Yash is a huge sensation and one of the highest-paid actors in the South. Thanks to the massively-successful KGF films; he is one of the most bankable stars in the entertainment industry. The Kannada actor participated in a conclave and spoke about the stars, who inspired him to excel in his career.

KGF 2, starring Yash, had a dream run at the box office, grossing over Rs 1200 crore worldwide. It was the biggest release ever for a Kannada film, which was dubbed and released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

It was the only second Indian film to collect over Rs 1000 crore from the Indian entertainment industry, after SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, Baahubali: The Conclusion, then. 

Yash disclosed that he drew inspiration from a variety of actors to play Rocky in Prashanth Neel's KGF. “I can't claim that Rocky Bhai was all mine because I watched movies while growing up. Those visuals have had an impact on me. If I were to pretend to be a journalist, I may study your approach and mannerisms. (referring to the anchor Rajdeep Sardesai). It all depends on what you wish to apply. It comes naturally. Anyone can learn and become an Eklavya when gurus are around.”

Yash responded he has had several role models when asked if he had one. “I adore Clint Eastwood, Shankar Nag, Ambareesh, Dr Rajkumar, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan. These actors motivate me. In particular, I'm a huge fan of Rajini sir.”

It's interesting how Yash responded to criticisms directed towards KGF, too. “We must be prepared to take both praise and criticism. The evil side of life exists as well, and we should accept it. The audience is intelligent, and in movies, we exert creative freedom. In contrast to reality, we witness 100 individuals being beaten. In movies, we can't merely concentrate on the good. Rocky, my character in KGF is both good and bad.”

Regarding KGF 3, he added, it wasn't happening anytime soon. “I worked on both movies for close to 6-7 years. I want to leave and concentrate on something else. Honestly, nobody anticipated such a massive success. India is a country that has great potential. What we are celebrating is only a small percentage of what we are capable of.”

Yash concluded by saying, he had an English language barrier. “We once believed that success required a certain set of traits. However, you must believe in your abilities. You can then gradually cultivate those.”
