In addition to celebrating the 25th anniversary of one of his legendary films, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kajol, Karan Johar is presently enjoying the success of his most recent release, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The director is renowned for his distinctive style of directing, and audiences adore the roaming, drama, and stunning sets he delivers.
As his recent film, RARKPK managed to earn over Rs 330 crores at the global box office, Karan discussed Shah Rukh's cameos in Brahmastra and two more recent films, in an interview with Pinkvilla.
Even though his team had previously come up with a plan for how Shah Rukh may appear in the movie, Karan claimed that after Brahmastra he was unable to ask Shah Rukh for a cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
When asked if he was tempted, Karan replied, 'Very'. He added that the best scene in Tum Kya Mile song, according to the entire AD team, could happen if they turned away from Alia and Ranveer and instead looked at Shah Rukh and Kajol singing the same song. Alia notices that there is genuine love when they gaze at them since Shah Rukh and Kajol stand for love. "With what kind of guts do I ask Shah Rukh to not only do a cameo, but to go to Kashmir, and get into hair and costume," he added.
Shah Rukh Khan never says 'no' to Karan Johar
Karan remarked, Shah Rukh never says no to me. I have to be selective about what I ask for. The filmmaker was quoted as saying by the portal, "I remember when, as a team, we went to him to ask him to play that massive, impactful cameo in Brahmastra. At the end of the day, he looked at us and said, ‘It’s Karan, I can never say no’. I know that I can’t take that empowered feeling for granted and keep going back.”
For the uninitiated, Shah Rukh Khan did not charge a penny for his cameo in Brahmastra.
