It looks like Aathmika's latest tweet has stirred a debate on nepotism in the Tamil film industry. The actress had stated on her social media handle that the privileged are easily getting their way up the ladder in an easier manner than others. The tweet of the Kodiyil oruvan actress reads, "It鈥檚 good to see privileged getting easy way through the ladder while the rest 馃ゲ Paathukalam 馃檶馃徑 (sic)."
Fans of the actress indicate that the tweet is directed towards director Shankar's daughter, Aditi Shankar, who is all set for her maiden release, Viruman opposite Karthi. The film is directed by Muthaiah and is said to be a rural entertainer. Even before the release of her debut film, the doctor-turned-actress has bagged her second film, Maveeran. The action drama has Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, and will be directed by the National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin.
The shoot for Maveeran began yesterday and Aditi had shared that she couldn't wait to begin working on the film. Her tweet read, "Thank you @madonneashwin sir and @iamarunviswa sir for having me onboard馃挴 @Siva_Kartikeyan sirrrr can鈥檛 wait to start shooting alongside you馃敟馃Э So happy that Appa was by my side on this special day 鈾ワ笍 #Maaveeran (sic)." Aditi was also part of the Chess Olympiad promotional anthem, which was directed by Vignesh Shivan.
Aathmika made her debut in films with Meesaya Murukku opposite Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi. She also been part of Kodiyil Oruvan and the recently released Katteri, in which she is seen in a crucial role. The horror comedy is directed by Deekay and features Vaibhav, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sonam Bajwa along with Aathmika. Aathmika was roped in as the replacement to Oviya. The actress's upcoming projects include Naragasooran, which has been lying in the cans for a while now and Kannai Nambathey, which is also facing a delayed release.
