The life of Princess Diana has always been subjected to several rumours and controversies. Her unhappy marriage, romantic affair and eventually her death were gossip for the English and the entire world. They are still debated upon occasionally. Now, a Broadway musical production of her life is going to be released and here is all you need to know about it.

What will the musical be about?

Diana tells the story of an educated and skilled girl who was forced into the hypocritical world of the English aristocracy and forced into a loveless marriage with a “prince” 12 years older than her. Within five years of marriage, Diana understood their incompatibility when Prince Charles reportedly rekindled his old affair. The musical will depict how the princess regained her voice in midst of royal family chaos and used her position and influence for the well being of the people of the UK and the world. The musical will narrate her life from the age of 19.

When and where to watch Diana: The Musical?

Diana will be officially released on Netflix on October 1. A trailer has been released featuring glimpses of the performance. The Broadway performance was recorded last year at the Longacre Theatre in November 2020 without a live audience following the closure of theatres in New York. The live recording was made into a movie for Netflix with the original cast and crew.

Who are the cast and crew of Diana: The Musical?

Jeanna De Waal plays Diana while American actress Erin Davie plays Camilla Parker Bowle, the lover of Prince Charles. Judy Kaye will play Queen Elizabeth and Gareth Keegan will play James Hewitt. The show is directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley based on the book of Joe DiPietro and David Bryan.
