Actor, director, scriptwriter, producer and singer! No, we aren’t talking about Vineeth Sreenivasan, but his younger brother Dhyan. The Udal actor has lent his voice for Ranjin Raj’s music for Indrajith Sukumaran and Nyla Usha’s upcoming movie Kunjammini’s Hospital.
Composer Ranjin Raj took to his social media page on Tuesday to reveal the “new singer” that he and the team were “proudly introducing”, while sharing photos of Dhyan from the music director’s studio.
Dhyan, like his brother and father Sreenivasan, has donned multiple hats throughout his career, but this will be the first time that he will be singing for a movie. Kunjammini’s Hospital, which is expected to release soon, is “fun, fantasy film told through humour”, as per its makers.
The film, which also has Prakash Raj, Baburaj and Sarayu, is scripted by Priyan Ottathilaanu writers Abhayakumar and Anil Kurian, and is helmed by debutant Sanal V Devan. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Abhayakumar said that the movie’s story is set in 2-3 time periods and multiple characters with pivotal backstories that add to the movie’s narrative.
“What we have tried with this film is to show we can approach things that would bring us negative emotions with a sense of humour. A hospital backdrop usually makes for things that make people sad – be it an accident, death or sickness; in this film, when you see these, it would bring a smile to your face,” he said, adding that the film also has Binu Pappu, Harishree Ashokan and Prashanth Alexander in supporting roles.
The team had concluded the shoot of the movie last year and is currently busy with its post-production. Meanwhile, Dhyan, who was last seen in Khali Purse of Billionaires, is also part of CBI Sethurama Iyer franchise’s writer SN Swamy’s directorial debut. The actor is also rumoured to be teaming up with his brother Vineeth for the latter’s next directorial, which will also have Pranav Mohanlal in the lead.
