Dhruva Sarja sparks speculation yet again that he’s got a double role in Martin

On February 23, Dhruva Sarja and his team of Martin finally gave the world a glimpse of what’s in store in the film. Based on a story by his uncle and actor Arjun Sarja and directed by AP Arjun, who launched Dhruva a decade ago with Addhuri, Martin is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The teaser did not offer much in terms of a story, but hinted that Dhruva’s character is involved in an issue in Pakistan. That, says director Arjun, only forms a small part of the narrative. What the film is actually about lies in the title – Martin.

Speaking at the teaser launch, Dhruva explained that he plays a character called Arjun, who is paired with Vaibhavi Shandilya, and that there is another character called Martin. The narrative explores who and what Martin is. Anveshi Jain, who makes her Kannada film debut with Martin, added that she is paired with ‘Martin’, and plays a gangster chick, who is involved in a lot of action sequences along with him. Given that the teaser was all about high-octane action, netizens are now wondering if Dhruva Sarja has a double role in the film. The team, of course, skirted the question, hinting that anyone at the teaser launch could be Martin.

In the past, when Dhruva unveiled his bulked up physique for the film, there was widespread speculation that he plays two roles in the film, but he had denied it at the time, saying only that his physical transformation was a script requirement.

Martin, produced by Uday K Mehta, required Dhruva to gain weight and considerable mass, which, the actor calls beast mode. After the teaser came out, netizens have been saying that Dhruva is the Hulk of the Kannada cinema industry, as the actor looks massive onscreen.
