Two years after the demise of Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, the team of one of his last commercial projects, Rajamarthanda, is gearing up to release it in theatres. At the time of his passing, Chiru, as the actor was popularly called, had finished shooting for the film, but post-production, including dubbing was still pending.

After the actor’s death, when director Ramnarayan visited the family to pay his tributes, Chiranjeevi’s brother Dhruva spotted him and asked him if the former had dubbed for his role. When Ramnarayan said that he hadn’t Dhruva immediately promised him to do the needful. Dhruva, who has been busy shooting for his next film, Martin, which is now complete, is back in Bengaluru and has been dubbing for Chiru’s role in Rajamarthanda. The Action Prince today took to social media and shared a glimpse of him dubbing for Chiru.

The trailer of the film, which is an action-based commercial entertainer with actors like Deepti Sati, Meghashri, Rasika Raj (formerly Triveni), Sumitra, Shankar Ashwath, Sourav Lokesh, Devaraj, Chikkanna, among others, onboard, was launched earlier by Chiru’s son Raayan Raj Sarja earlier. The director had also revealed recently that Raayan will be seen in the film, although he did not give specifics about the little one’s presence in Rajamarthanda. Challenging Star Darshan, who was also close to the late actor, has provided a voice over to the film. Produced by Pranav Gowda, N Niveditha and Sivakumar, Rajamarthanda’s story, screenplay and dialogues have been credited to Ramnarayan.

The film, meanwhile, is expected to release in theatres in June, although the team has not announced a date yet. Rajamarthanda will be Chiranjeevi's last film ever. The actor's last release before his passing was Shivarjuna, which came out in March 2020, shortly before lockdown was announced across the country. It was subsequently re-released in October that year, after Chiru's death. Yet another film, Ranam, was also released posthumously.
