Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon (GVM) is gearing up for the release of his long-awaited, spy thriller film Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam, starring Chiyaan Vikram. In a recent interview with Tamil TV host Dhivya Dharshini, the director revealed that Vikram will be seen as a special ops commando in the movie, which is all set to hit theatres on November 24.
More about Vikram’s character in Dhruva Natchathiram
GVM went on to share more insights about Vikram’s character in the film. “Vikram plays Dhruv/John, who is part of an underground covert team that works to protect the country,” said the filmmaker, adding, “A team of intelligence covert commandos are travelling the world, in a bid to protect the country. They have a military background and have emotional baggage.”
This secret team, according to the director, has been working for 15 years to protect the country. Vikram’s character, Dhruv, leads the team. Dhruv is in his 40s, and there is a strange love story where he, much to his reluctance, ends up falling in love.
Dhruva Natchathiram - GVM’s highly anticipated release
According to GVM, the film had almost got shelved, but he is relieved that it’s finally releasing. The filmmaker, who is known for his unique style of storytelling, promises that the audience would get to witness different shades of characters in this film.
Vikram and GVM’s upcoming projects
Vikram was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil epic-drama film, Ponniyin Selvan 2, and has also finished shooting for Thangalaan. Meanwhile, GVM has recently proved his mettle as an actor, and will be next seen in Vijay’ much-anticipated action film Leo.
