Recently, in an interview with the Galatta Plus YouTube channel, Gautham extensively spoke about the long production issues faced by Dhruva Natchathiram. The renowned filmmaker revealed that the Chiyaan Vikram-starrer found it extremely hard to crack an OTT deal. It was mainly because all major OTT platforms assumed that the project might be ‘outdated’ owing to the long delay in its production. Some were even worried that the project was caught up in many legal issues.
According to Gautham, it took the makers long to crack an OTT deal as all platforms demanded to watch the entire film first. The makers had to go through multiple negotiations, movie screenings, and convincing before getting Netflix on board as the official digital streaming partner of Dhruva Natchathiram . The director added that it took him a year to convince the platform to give the project a chance.
