Dhootha is a supernatural thriller that marks Naga Chaitanya and director Vikram K Kumar’s entry into the OTT space. The show is all set to premiere on leading streaming platform Amazon Prime Video later tonight. Prachi Desai, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Malayalam actress Parvathy, Tharun Bhascker, Raghu Kunche and others too play pivotal roles in the show produced by Sharrath Marar.
Ahead of its OTT premiere, a special show of the web series was held in Hyderabad in the presence of leading stars from the tinsel town yesterday. Some of the actors who graced the show include celebrity couple Varun Tej, Lavanya Tripathi, brothers Santosh Soban, Sangeeth Shobhan, Sushanth, Allu Aravind. Dhootha is earning good pre-release talk, with several industry insiders praising the show for the execution.

Leading production house Srinivasaa Silver Screen, tweeted, “#Dhootha - It was an engrossing experience with supernatural thrilling elements. Only two episodes of the show were screened at the premiere yesterday. Dhootha comprises 8 episodes on the whole. The premise is centred on a newspaper journalist Sagar, who realises that a cartoon strip in a daily foretells a series of crimes in the city. Parvathy is cast as an investigative cop while Priya Bhavani Shankar plays Sagar’s partner in the show.
Naga Chaitanya and Vikram K Kumar, prior to Dhootha, had collaborated on two films - Thank You (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) and Manam (out on Sun NXT). The former was seen in his first Telugu-Tamil bilingual this year - Custody, directed by Venkat Prabhu, where he was cast opposite Krithi Shetty. His next release is the pan Indian action drama Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti.
