Telugu cinema, before the big box office battles for Christmas and Sankranthi 2024, will witness an intriguing clash between two other promising films the next weekend. Nani’s emotional drama Hi Nanna (to release on December 7) will be locking horns with Nithiin’s entertainer Extra Ordinary Man (to release on December 8). Both films look equally promising, going by their trailers.
Meanwhile, Nithiin had a surprise from his idol - cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni - ahead of Extra Ordinary Man’s release. The former Indian captain gifted the Ishq actor an autographed shirt while wishing him for the film. “Best wishes Nitin,” the text on the shirt reads. “EXTRAORDINARY gift from an EXTRAORDINARY MAN… Thankuu @msdhoni sir for this!! Love u,” Nithiin shared his excitement.
For the unversed, Extra Ordinary Man tells the story of an aspirant actor in the film industry, who has big dreams but is reduced to a junior artiste on sets. The film is a light-hearted entertainer on the highs and lows in his life. Sreeleela plays the female lead in the action comedy, also starring Rajasekhar in an extended cameo. The cast comprises Sudhev Nair, Rao Ramesh, Rohini, Sampath Raj and Brahmaji as well.
At the trailer launch held earlier this week, Nithiin said his role in Extra Ordinary Man is among the best in his career and that it would be as entertaining as Kick and Race Gurram (written by Vakkantham Vamsi). Harris Jayaraj returns to Telugu cinema with the project, produced by Sudhakar Reddy, Nikitha Reddy under Sreshth Movies, Ruchira Entertainments and Aditya Movies and Entertainments.
Nithiin has two other films in the pipeline after Extra Ordinary Man, including films with directors Venky Kudumula and Venu Sriram. Meanwhile, Nithiin’s cricketing idol Dhoni too turned a producer with the Tamil film LGM (Let’s Get Married), starring Harish Kalyan, Ivana. LGM can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
