The film, directed by Arun Kumar, was started as a Kannada movie only, but will get a Telugu version owing to Dheekshith’s current popularity in Tollywood.

Kannada actor Dheekshith Shetty’s prospects in Telugu cinema are definitely on the rise. The Dia star has done a bunch of Kannada films since his debut, but none of them have released, while he’s had multiple films on OTT and movie halls, including the most recent Dasara, over in Tollywood. The actor, who is currently working on his debut web series in Telugu, tells us that in Kannada, KTM will be his next release.
“We are looking at bringing it to theatres in June or July. For now, we will release the Telugu teaser in the next few days. KTM was started as a Kannada film, and, would have remained so, if it were not for Dasara and the reception I received in Telugu cinema. Once Dasara happened, I thought, ‘Why not?’ I knew that Dasara would be a good boost for me personally and I truly believe that the content of KTM is good and will work for audiences there. The subject is such that it will work for the ‘nativity’ of that belt. I will dub for my role in Telugu as well,” says Dheekshith.
KTM, meanwhile, is one of a bunch of films that the actor had signed immediately after Dia. The film has Dheekshith sporting multiple looks, including that of a teenager, for which he had to lose weight, as well as a bulked-up version too as an older man. The actor has been quoted as saying that there is another look that he thinks will take audiences by surprise. Besides KTM, Dheekshith is also looking forward to the release of the sci-fi thriller Blink and the Rakshit Shetty production Strawberry, both of which are complete. Sheegrameva Kalyana Praptirastu is currently stalled and the actor is not sure as to if and when it will be resumed.
Interestingly, Dheekshith has not signed any new film since Dasara, which he says is because he is trying to ensure that his filmography has him doing different kinds of roles. “I have been listening to scripts and there are a couple that I have shortlisted for a second narrative, after which I will decided which one to take up next. There will be a few announcements shortly,” he says.
