When Kannada actor Dheekshith Shetty’s KTM releases in theatres this February, it will be exactly four years since he was last seen onscreen in 2020’s Dia. The actor has, of course, had other releases, albeit in Telugu, including Naani’s Dasara, in which Dheekshith had a major role, but he’s been waiting patiently to see his Kannada films in theatres. There are at least three ready - KTM, Blink and Strawberry - and 2 out of 3 will be in theatres shortly.
Directed by Arun, KTM has Dheekshith sporting different looks, as it explores his character’s life journey over several years, starting as a teenager to the mid and late 20s. From knocking off kilos and going clean shaven for the teenage portions to bulking up and sporting more facial fuzz for his older, more mature portions of the film, Dheekshith has put in a lot of effort into KTM and has been waiting eagerly to have audiences see it onscreen.
Earlier today, the team of KTM announced that the film will be in theatres on February 16. Dheekshith has two leading ladies in the film – Sanjana Doss and Kajal Kunder. In an earlier conversation with OTTplay, Dheekshith had said that he was trying to give KTM a Telugu release as well, given his current popularity in that industry.
When we checked with him if that plan is still on, he said he was in talks with Geetha Arts for the same, and that a final decision had not been taken. Even if they do come onboard as distributors for the Telugu version, a simultaneous release may not happen.
In Telugu, Dheekshith has a couple of exciting film projects in the pipeline, including Girlfriend with Rashmika Mandanna. The actor is also looking forward to his web series debut on Disney+ Hotstar, a sci-i tale in which he plays a character with a super power.
