There's an update from the stable of Dhanush's upcoming film Vaathi. The film's music composer GV Prakash has announced that the second single from the film, Naadodi Mannan, will be released on January 17. GV Prakash took to his social media handle to announce the news. He dropped a new poster in which Dhanush is seen walking along with a travel bag and captioned it, "My first single for this year #naadodimannan #banjara from #vaathi #sir @dhanushkraja @SitharaEnts #venkyatluri @adityamusic … let’s go (sic)."

It looks like the release of the film is likely to be pushed further. Vaathi, which was initially supposed to release in December 2022, had been pushed to February. According to a report by ETimes, since the film has many graphic frames, the post-production work is likely to take more time and hence, the makers seem to have postponed the release. Speculations are rife that the film will hit screens in mid-summer. There are high chances that Dhanush's film will release in April and that it will clash with Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. If that happens, this will be the second time that Dhanush's film will take on Mani Ratnam's film. His last release Naane Varuven was released along with the first part of Ponniyin Selvan, in September 2022.

Vaathi is directed by Venky Atluri and the film has Samyuktha Menon as the leading lady. The film is a bilingual and it has been named Sir in Telugu. Both films will have a simultaneous release. Dhanush plays an honest teacher who takes on the corrupt educational system. Vaathi is bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.

In the meantime, Dhanush is busy shooting for his next Captain Miller, which is helmed by Arun Matheswaran. The film stars Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken to name a few. The film is likely to have Dhanush in an action-packed avatar.
