The much-awaited first single from Dhanush's Vaathi is all set to be out on November 10. The single has lyrics by Dhanush himself for the Tamil version and Ramojogaiah for the Telugu version. Taking to his social media handle, the film's composer GV Prakash Kumar wrote, "The first single from #Vaathi #SIRMovie written by our @dhanushkraja (Tamil) & @ramjowrites (Telugu ) is all set to release on November 10th #VenkyAtluri @iamsamyuktha_ @_ShwetaMohan_ @vamsi84 @adityamusic @dopyuvraj @NavinNooli #SaiSoujanya @Fortune4Cinemas @SitharaEnts (sic)."
Dhanush plays a teacher in Vaathi, who takes on the corrupt practices in the educational system and tries to reform it. The film is helmed by Venky Atluri, thus marking his maiden collaboration with the actor. Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady in the film. The teaser of the film was launched recently and it revealed that Dhanush's character was titled Balamurugan who tries to help poor children get education. The film is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, and has been named Sir in Telugu. The star cast includes Samuthirakani, Saikumar, Shrutika, Tanikella Bharani, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi and Praveena to name a few. The film is all set to hit screens on December 2. The digital rights of the film have been bagged by Aha.
Dhanush has had a series of releases this year, which includes Karthick Naren's Maaran, the Russo Brothers' The Gray Man, Mithran Jawahar's Thiruchitrambalam and Selvaraghavan's Naane Varuven. Vaathi will mark his fifth release of 2022. The actor is currently busy shooting for Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller. The film has Priyanka Mohan as the leading lady along with Sundeep Kishan, Nivedhithaa Sathish, John Kokken and Elango Kumaravel as part of the star cast. GV Prakash Kumar will be scoring the music for the film. The shoot is in full swing and the film is likely to hit screens in mid-2023.
