Dhahanam saw Isha Koppikar back in uniform yet again, essaying the role of tough-as-nails cop, Anjana Sinha. The web series premiered on MX Player on April 14, and Isha recently opened up about the response she has been receiving for the show.
In a statement, the actress said it was a ‘proud feeling’ to wear the uniform yet again. Be it on screen or off the screen, the uniform carried with it a huge sense of responsibility to those who wear it, from the very moment someone wore it.
The actress also expressed her elation at the ‘love’ she received for her role, which made her feel that she did indeed do justice to her character. Thanking the people who supported her, she said that she hoped that they’d continue supporting her in the future as well. Isha also added that all the support from audiences made her even more excited for season two of Dhahanam.
In addition to Isha, the web series also features Naina Ganguly, Abhishek Duhan, Ashwatkanth Sharma, Parvathy Arun, Sayaji Shinde, Abhilash Chaudhary and Pradeep Rawat in prominent roles. The series, a revenge drama, is directed by Agasthya Manju.
Dhahanam is produced by Ram Gopal Varma and marked the filmmaker’s first web production. The show marked RGV’s collaboration with Isha again after a period of almost two decades. The actress made a special appearance in RGV’s 2002 directorial Company, in the song Khallas. Company, which stars Mohanlal, Manisha Koirala, Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi, can be streamed on ZEE5.
Dhahanam can be streamed on MX Player in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.
