Dhahanam: Isha Koppikar is a tough-as-nails cop in Ram Gopal Varma’s crime thriller series

Dhahanam will see Isha Koppikar don the khaki yet again, as she takes on the avatar of a police officer, in the upcoming series. The actress recently opened up about her role as an IPS officer in the crime thriller web series.

In a statement, Koppikar said that it was a ‘proud feeling’ to essay the role of a police officer on screen again, although it does come with a ‘great’ sense of responsibility as well. Appreciating police officers for the work they do, the actress expressed her gratitude towards them for the work that they put in to keep people safe.

Of her character in the upcoming series she said that the role had brought out the ‘best’ in her as an actress. “I am excited to play Anjana Sinha in Dhahanam who works hard to find culprits and brings peace to the chaotic hinterland village,” she added.

Koppikar had also essayed the role of a police officer in her previous projects such as Kya Kool Hain Hum and Shabri as well.

The upcoming crime thriller revolves around the story of a man who takes it upon himself to avenge his father’s death.

In addition to Isha Koppikar, the crime thriller also features Naina Ganguly, Abhishek Duhan, Ashwatkanth Sharma, Parvathy Arun, Sayaji Shinde, Abhilash Chaudhary and Pradeep Rawat in pivotal roles. The upcoming series is directed by Agasthya Manju and produced by Ram Gopal Varma.

Dhahanam will be available to stream on MX Player from April 14, in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.
