It has finally been confirmed that actor John Lithgow is officially signed to return with his Emmy award-winning role of the Trinity Killer a.a Arthur Mitchell in the upcoming Dexter revival series, as per a report in Deadline. The popular show created by James Manos Jr. revolves around Dexter, a forensic technician who doubles up as a vigilante serial killer, leading a hidden parallel life. The original series was based on the adaptation of Jeff Lindsay's Darkly Dreaming Dexter.
The original show, Dexter, was a fairly popular one that ended with its eighth season back in 2013, with high ratings. Fans of the show were however disappointed with the final season as it received negative reviews from fans and critics alike. A chance of redemption for the creators, it was announced that the show will return with a limited episode revival series, lead by showrunners Clyde Philips and Michael C. Hall. The news has since then sparked curiosity within fans who are waiting for some of their favourite characters to return in the revival season.
With shooting currently underway, it was revealed that actor John Lithgow is all set to reprise his Trinity Killer role in the revival season. Details of the plot are being kept under the wraps and the revival season is expected to drop sometime in fall this year.
All the previous seasons of Dexter are available to stream on Amazon Prime Videos.
