Dev’s new film based on coal-mining areas?

Dev’s Pradhan has started performing well at the box office. Meanwhile, there was the official announcement of his film Tekka, in which he collaborated with Srijit Mukherji. The film will also feature Rukmini Maitra, Swastika Mukherjee, and Parambrata Chatterjee.   

Meanwhile, according to reports, Dev will announce his new film with producer Atanu Roychoudhury and director Avijit Sen on January 1. However, the news of another of his films is on the air. 

According to reports, the film’s name is Khadan and it will deal with the socio-political aspects of coal-mining areas. The film will be jointly produced by Dev's production house and Surinder Films. Sujit Dutta might direct the film. Dev will play the protagonist. The makers have initially thought about Soumitrisha Kundu as the lead actress. If it comes true, then Dev and Soumitrisha will pair up for the second time, after Pradhan. It is heard that the film will be officially announced at the beginning of 2024.

Tekka's shooting will start in the first week of January. Khadan's shooting may start in March or April. Tekka will be released during Durga Puja. The film directed by Abhijit Sen is to be released during Christmas. It remains to see what the makers' plan for Khadan is.
