Devil will be Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s second release this year after Amigos, the action thriller directed by Prasanth Reddy and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, in which he had essayed a triple role (now streaming on Netflix). The former is a period saga in which the actor plays a secret British agent while his Bimbisara co-star Samyuktha Menon is cast as the female lead.

The teaser of the thriller released a few weeks ago, received encouraging responses and its production design is believed to be one of its major highlights. Meanwhile, a new controversy erupted when the producers, Abhishek Pictures, decided not to credit director Naveen Medaram in the recent promos. Abhishek Nama has now been named as the director and the producer of the film.

Amidst this issue, the team is trying to douse the fire by launching a new song from the film titled Maaye Chesey. Harshavardhan Rameshwar, who had also worked for the banner’s earlier project Ravanasura, is the composer. Sid Sriram has sung the number which has lyrics by Satya RV. Maaye Chesey is a melodious romantic number unfolding between the lead pair, establishing their relationship.

The promo of the Maaye Chesey was launched today. “Love knows no boundaries, not even for the #Devil. Get ready to be enchanted by the soul-stirring first single #MaayeChesey from #Devil. Promo out now. Full lyrical song drops on September 19th,” the production house tweeted. The retro-styled track, that’s easy on the ears, is certain to grow on listeners in the coming days.

‘Maaye Chesey Mellaga..Madhi Dochesinde Sinnaga..Choope Choosi Sannaga..Nannu Champesinde Sootiga..,’ the song describes how the protagonist has fallen for his lady love. While Kalyan Ram is seen in a kurta with an overcoat and a dhoti, Samyuktha looks beautiful in the periodic look, donning a variety of saris. Malvika Nair too plays a crucial role in the film.
