Devi Chowdhurani: Subhrajit Mitra to start shooting in a couple of weeks

Subhrajit Mitra is all geared up to start the shooting of his ambitious project, Devi Chowdhurani, with a stellar star cast, including Srabanti Chatterjee, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Arjun Chakrabarty. On Saturday, the film team shared the looks of the cast, except Prosenjit.

In a chat with OTTplay, Subhrajit confirmed that the main shoot will start in another couple of weeks. Right now they are busy with test shoots. “Our preparations are going on in full swing. We are on the final leg of it. In a couple of weeks, our principal photography will start. We are also waiting because the weather will be perfect in another two weeks. All our outdoor locations are in the forests or hilly areas. If you see the look set photos, we will realise this involves a lot of makeup and costume in place. A slightly cooler weather will help the actors and actresses. Right now we are busy with our test shoots of action sequences. Last week we did the look tests. This is a huge canvas that has never been attempted in Bengali cinema. We are very cautious about the fact so that there is no mistake.”

For this film, Srabanti, who plays the titular role, has been going through a number of training sessions. After learning how to ride a horse, the actress is now practising sword fighting. “This is the first time I am holding a sword. It is a new thing for me and exciting. It is not easy at all. However, I love challenges,” she said.
