After a tragic event, actor Milind Gunaji, who co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Devdas, spoke candidly about how the actor made sure he was fine. During the film's production, Milind lost his father, and Shah Rukh was prepared to halt filming to make sure he was okay, according to an interview with Rajshri Unplugged.
When word of Milind's loss reached the set, the actors began to feel sorry for him. "I remember Shah Rukh, he is such a gentleman and a nice person," the actor remarked. "He used to come and sit with me. He told me that he was feeling sorry about this and said that if something needs to stop, they will stop. He said that there won’t be any problem, and they can stop the shoot. Sanjay sir also told me the same thing,” he added.
Milind also remembers how long it took to film the iconic song Dola Re Dola. He said that an issue prevented him from being called for the shoot, even though he had been on the sets for over three days.
He mentioned that a handheld camera was used to capture one particular scene. While Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai moved elegantly, there was an awkward moment due to a technological glitch. Milind bided his time, knowing that Bhansali would require a certain amount of time. He said, "I felt that Madhuri ji had hurt her leg. So, I thought that it wouldn’t happen so quickly because whatever Sanjay Ji needed, he would take it and make it happen.”
In 2002, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas premiered in theaters and became a commercial triumph. Devdas captured the hearts of the audience with its tragic plot, exquisite music, and outstanding performances by Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff, Kirron Kher, Jaya Bhattacharya, Muni Jha, and others. If you are wondering where to watch Devas on OTT, the film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
