Devara is one of the most-awaited films in Telugu cinema as it has Jr NTR and Koratala Siva teaming up for the second time in their career. The action drama will be released in two parts and the first will be out on September 27, 2024.
Jr NTR was in Chennai the other day to promote the film and the star hero also added that he would love to do a direct Tamil film in the direction of Vetrimaran. The pre-release business of the film is going on in a never-before-heard manner and we have now come to know that Devara Part 1 has been sold for a whopping Rs 110 crore in Telugu states.
Naga Vamsi, the popular producer in Tollywood has bagged the theatrical rights for both states and he is selling them to various distributors for a never-before-heard amount. One of the leading trade analysts in Tollywood tells us that to make a profit, Devara needs to start on a record-breaking note in Telugu states.
That means, Devara needs to make at least Rs 90 crore to be in the safe zone. In the US too, Devara is creating new records in ticket sales. The film is nearing the 2 million dollar mark in North America and no Indian film has done such business even before the film was released.
This shows how much craze Devara has in the film circles and amidst general audience. Janhvi Kapoor is making her debut with this film and so is Saif Ali Khan. The songs have caught on quite well and the chemistry of NTR and Janhvi is on fire.
Koratala Siva gave a massive flop with his last film Acharya and is under a lot of pressure. Looking at the way the film has been sold for exorbitant prices, Koratala needs to deliver at any cost. We need to see if Devara lives up to all the hype created or not.
Karan Johar is releasing the film in Hindi and he is super confident that Devara will take a solid start in the northern belt as well. Watch this space for more updates.
