Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR's movie Devara Part 1 was one of the most-awaited films in 2024. The film performed well at the box office. After the first part's release, rumors of Devara 2 being shelved spread like wildfire on social media. But there seems to be no truth to the speculation. According to Mid-Day, Devara 2 is not shelved and the star cast might soon commence the film's shoot.
The latest development is that Devara 2 is currently in the scripting stage. The second installment is expected to be bigger than the sequel with all characters having more evolved arcs.
"Vara (Jr NTR), Thangam (Kapoor), Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), Singappa (Prakash Raj), Task Force Chief Shivam (Ajay), and Rayappa (Meka Srikanth) will return to the screen in a more dynamic way," a source told the tabloid. Devara 2 is likely to be set in more contemporary times. The reason why Vara killed his father will also be revealed in the second part
"The scripting process for Devara Part 2, led by director Koratala Siva and his dedicated team, has begun in earnest. The makers plan to pick up from the cliffhanger in Part 1," the source added. The sequel might feature more underwater sequences to amplify the film's larger-than-life appeal.
Jr NTR's filming schedule is not fixed yet as the actor is committed to Ayan Mukerji's War 2 and Prashanth Neel's period drama.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara Part 1 was a Telugu action drama, which was released in theatres on September 27, 2024. Produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Kosaraju Harikrishna, the film marked the Telugu cinema debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The movie's shoot took place in Hyderabad, Shamshabad, Visakhapatnam, Goa, and Thailand.
