The big-screen release of Deva, the upcoming action thriller starring Shahid Kapoor in the titular role, is just one day away. The film also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana, and Kubbra Sait in pivotal roles. The Rosshan Andrews' debut feature has been one of the most anticipated films of 2025 and it's set to hit theatres on January 31, 2025. Now, we have got to know where the film will stream after its theatrical run. Netflix has bagged the OTT rights for Deva, and it will be out after a couple of months depending on the box office success of the film.

Deva plot synopsis

Investigating a high-profile murder investigation, Deva follows a talented but defiant police officer (Shahid Kapoor) in an exciting, action-packed thriller.

Jakes Bejoy and Vishal Mishra were the composers of the film's score and soundtrack. Amit Roy shot the film, while A. Sreekar Prasad edited it.

Rosshan Andrews' Hindi cinema debut

The film is Rosshan's first foray into Hindi cinema and the first work with Shahid; it is being marketed as an action thriller. Speaking about the film, the actor called it an edgy action thriller with lots of action and thrill. 

Kapoor, who plays a police officer in the film, wore his hair short for ten years, much as in Haider (2014). He described his role as a tough character in the movie.

Supporting characters

Sait will be playing the part of a police officer, and this is her second project with Shahid; their first was the web series Farzi. Joining the cast was Gulati, who was making his action film debut. The profession demands physical and mental dedication. according to the actor. To prepare himself physically and mentally for his role in the film, he went to a special workshop. Rosshan stated he considered using a body double for some difficult scenes involving Gulati's hand-to-hand combat but ultimately decided to do it himself since he believed the job would be too inauthentic.

The Censor Board awarded the film a U/A certificate on December 30, 2024, with a final running duration of 156.53 minutes.
