Dev will be seen as Bagha Jatin in Arun Roy’s next biopic

Dev has successfully played the character of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari in Dhrubo Banerjee’s Golondaaj. Known as the father of Indian football, Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, the character fought with the British rulers on the soccer field. Now the actor will be seen as the freedom fighter Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay. After the critical success of Hiralal, filmmaker Arun Roy started penning the script. 

Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay is known to have killed a tiger in his bare hand. He is known to be a brave man who became an integral part of the Indian freedom movement. He came close to Aurobindo Ghosh. He learnt bodybuilding and shooting. 

As per sources, Dev took part in the first part of the look set. The primary look of the actor will be used in the promotions. The formal announcement of the film is expected to take place in mid-August during Independence Day. As per experts, Dev has an uncanny similarity with Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay. Hence, a major prosthetic makeover is less likely to take place. However, as per reports, there can be a minor prosthetic detail added around the nasal area. As per reports, the film may go on the floors in winter. Meanwhile, no official comments have so far been made by the actor’s or the director’s team.  

Dev is currently busy with another production, Projapoti. Directed by Avijit Sen, Dev will be seen as the son of Mithun Chakraborty in the film. Besides, the film will also feature Mamata Shankar, Koneenica Banerjee, Koushani Mukherjee, and others.
