Dev spills the beans on marrying Rukmini Maitra

Dev is all set to become the newest Byomkesh Bakshi on the block. On August 11, Birsa Dasgupta’s Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo will be released. Rukmini Maitra will be seen as Satyabati – Byomkesh Bakshi’s wife – in the film. 

Dev and Rukmini have been reportedly dating for years now. They are not only seen working together but also travelling around. Is there any plan to get married? In an interview with OTTplay, Dev said that they believe in the institution called, marriage. “Rukmini will be able to tell you when she wishes to marry,” said the actor, adding, “I believe in the institution called marriage. We respect our tradition and cultural heritage. Marriage is important for us but not the only important thing in our life.”

Dev also said that trust is a cornerstone of a marriage and he trusts Rukmini completely. “As long as we are comfortable we are good. The moment we will feel that we are mature enough to marry we will. Right now we are slightly caught up with our volume of work. Marriage is nothing but trust and I have that trust in Rukmini,” said Dev.

While Dev is busy with many films, Rukmini has been working with Jeet in Boomerang. Her Binodini – Ekti Natir Upakhyan will be released in December and she will start working with Ram Kamal Mukhopadhyay once again in Draupadi. Meanwhile, Dev will have his Puja release, Bagha Jatin, next. He will start working with Avijit Sen in Pradhan, which is a reunion of the hit trio – producer Atanu Raychaudhuri, Avijit Sen, and Dev. Besides, the film will also feature Paran Bandyopadhyay and others.
