Dev is all set for his next, Bagha Jatin

It was the 74th Republic Day of India. Dev and his team took the right moment to reveal the first look of his next, Bagha Jatin. Earlier in 2022, the actor formally announced this film on Independence Day. The film will be directed by Arun Roy. After Golondaj, this will be the second film in which Dev will be seen as a historical character. He wants the film to be perfect and has already started preparation for acting. A few days back, Dev and other members of the team went to Odisha for the location recce. 

On January 26, Dev took to his social media account to post a photo. It shows the face of a yogi, smeared with ash and with piercing eyes. With long hair and a beard, he has a vermillion tilak on his forehead. Who is this person? Is he Dev, or someone else? 

The net world was smitten with curiosity over this photo. The caption was, “Countless years of undying struggle against the British Raj finally bore fruit in the form of the Indian Independence Dream. As a tribute to all those brave souls, we bring to you the story of one such fearless warrior “BAGHA JATIN” this Durga Puja.”

So, this is a new look at the film Bagha Jatin. But is he Dev? The director of the film Arun Roy told Anandabazar Online, “I can not comment. I can only say that this is a special disguise. Those who know Bagha Jatin's history will understand how the disguise was important in his life.” This special look of Dev was made by the makeup artist Somnath Kundu. Rohaan Bhattacharjee, Shoaib Kabir, and newcomer Srijala Dutta are also acting in the film. 

This is a new look of Dev. A few years back, Dev’s look in an elderly man’s role for the film Dhumketu was released, which created a buzz. However, that film is not yet released due to a tiff with the producer. Bagha Jatin will start its shooting on Friday.
