Akshay Kumar has been witnessing low luck when it comes to the Box Office of his movies. This is especially since COVID-19 pandemic. While his first film Sooryavanshi performed fairly at the Box Office, ever since, Akshay has been struggling to have a hit or a streak of them. His latest, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, did not hit the mark either. Nonetheless, that does not stop the superstar and he is ready to release at least four more films this year, if not five.
Akshay’s confirmed four movies
Apart from Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, co-starring Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar has announced four more movies releasing this year. They include Sarfira, which will be out on July 12. The movie is the Hindi remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru.
This will be followed by Khel Khel Mein, which was announced with Akshay, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal and Ammy Virk. The movie will be out on September 6.
Akshay will also appear in Sky Force, which marks Veer Pahariya’s debut in Bollywood. The film stars Sara Ali Khan as the female lead. Lastly, Akshay has locked in Christmas for Welcome 3 aka Welcome To The Jungle release.
Five films?
Apart from these, Akshay might feature in Singham 3 aka Singham Again. The actor will revive his role of Sooryavanshi for the same. Singham Again is from the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe and thus, it features Ajay Devgn (obviously) and Ranveer Singh too. The movie brings back Kareena Kapoor Khan to the franchise and will mark Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and Tiger Shroff’s debut in the franchise. The movie was scheduled to release last year but Rohit decided that a new date will be better for his action film. Thus, the makers are yet deciding and are expected to announce the new release date soon.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan failure
Despite the high hopes, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan failed to leave an impression on the audiences. The movie did not work at the Box Office. It clashed with Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, which also did not make a mark at the Box Office. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan had a great opening but ever since, the film saw a downward graph at the Box Office. Nonetheless, all of the failure has not stopped Akshay from moving ahead and doing his work, more of it at that.
