Despite Animal craze, Ranbir Kapoor fails to be among top three popular Bollywood actors of 2023

Ranbir Kapoor has failed to be among the top three actors of 2023. This is despite the Animal craze in the year. As one can expect, the year belonged to Shah Rukh Khan but if after him, it was about any actor, then that was Ranbir Kapoor. Despite that, the actor did not make it to the top three in the list unveiled by Ormax Media. Hrithik Roshan, who did not give any film in the year, also surpassed Ranbir in the rankings.

Who apart from SRK?

With Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, 2023 belonged to Shah Rukh Khan. The actor was the most loved in the year for obvious reasons. His first two films especially performed phenomenally both at the Box Office as well as on OTT.

Salman Khan was seen in a special appearance in Pathaan. He reprised his role as Tiger for the YRF Spy Universe film and then, Salman was seen as Tiger in Tiger 3, helmed by Maneesh Sharma. This got the actor on the second spot.

Akshay Kumar was once again seen in more than one film in 2023. He had three releases in Selfiee with Emraan Hashmi, OMG 2 co-starring Pankaj Tripathi and Mission Raniganj, which saw Parineeti Chopra as the female lead. Except for OMG 2, his movies did not work at the Box Office. Mission Raniganj received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike but it failed to get the registers ringing.

Ranbir Kapoor in top 5

Despite not even one release in 2023, Hrithik Roshan ranks fourth on the list. Hrithik’s last film was Vikram Vedha co-starring Saif Ali Khan, which also did not work at the Box Office. Despite that, Hrithik has managed to surpass Ranbir Kapoor as the more popular actor.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal was the most-spoken-about film of 2023 after Jawan. Before that, Ranbir made headlines for Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar co-starring Shraddha Kapoor. Despite having two of the biggest releases of the year, Ranbir ranked fifth on the list.

Bottom 5

Kartik Aaryan just missed top five. He ranks sixth on the list. The actor was last seen in SatyaPrem Ki Katha opposite Kiara Advani. The film was all over social media owing to a scene between them, where he shows patience and love for his partner.

Ranveer Singh, in news for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in the year, came seventh on the list. Many observed that Ranveer’s real-life personality matched Rocky and thus, he was perfect for the role in the Karan Johar directorial.

Ajay Devgn came eighth on the list. The actor was seen in Bholaa, which was directed by his own self. The movie saw a surprise in Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist of the film.

Aamir Khan, who took a break from acting in the year, came ninth on the list. The actor was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, which released in December 2022. The film, the Hindi remake of Forrest Gump, tanked at the Box Office and since, Aamir has taken a break from acting.

Varun Dhawan ranked 10th on the list. The actor was seen in Bawaal opposite Janhvi Kapoor in the year. He also had a special appearance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Sidharth Malhotra did not make it to the list in the year despite his OTT movie Mission Majnu releasing early in 2023. However, the hopes are up since the actor had a major OTT release in Indian Police Force, which is a part of Rohit Shetty cop universe. He will be seen in Yodha next, which would be his first aerial action film.
