The trailer of Despatch shows in a phone call, Manoj asking if there was a robbery and a guard was murdered to which the person on the other end of the phone says that the guard died in an accident and they also had a press release. During the process, Manoj faces death threats which are common for journalists. It will be interesting to see how Joy Bag unfolds the truth behind the mystery.

Manoj Bajpayee's relentless effort for his role in Despatch

Manoj Bajpayee has worked really hard for his Joy Bag role in Despatch. Speaking about the preparation for his role, Bajpayee said, "I have many very close friends who are investigative journalists from Delhi and from Mumbai, people who I have been meeting for many years to really understand the nature of their job...the conflict and the dichotomy that they live with."

"This film explores both the inside and outside worlds of a journalist. In trying to navigate these two worlds, my feet sometimes went here and there and in all that, my knee got injured. It's still healing," he added.

A story of organized crime, political corruption, and corporate takeovers

The actor shared that Despatch will explore the story of organized crime, political corruption, and corporate takeovers. He also added that while its undercurrent is a thriller, director Behl's treatment is quite interesting.

"People are finding the whole approach of not really flowing with the events and focusing rather on those events actually inside the human being inside that character and in the darkness of his own personality which is far scarier than the events which are unfolding," he added.

Despatch's cast and crew

Despatch features an ensemble cast. While Manoj Bajpayee plays journalist Joy Bag, Shahana Goswami will be seen as Shweta Bag. The film also casts Arrchita Agarwaal as Prerna Prakash, Anand Alkunte as S.I Bhonsle, Riju Bajaj as Tarun Khaitan, Purnendu Bhattacharya as Mallick, Prithvik Pratap as Jeethu Vishwas, Veena Mehta as Joy's Mother, Ajay Purkar as Prasad, Purnima Rathod as Mrs. Verma, and more.
