It has been a back-to-back trip to nostalgia when it comes to Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc. While episode 2 was all about Tanjiro and Giyu Tomioka reuniting and sharing a great bond after the first season, the third episode saw Tanjiro reunite with his Entertainment District Arc mentor, Tengen Uzui. Now, Tanjiro will be seen with his Swordsmith Village Arc Hashiras, Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito.
Episode 4 is titled To Bring A Smile to One’s Face, and like it suggests, it is expected to bring a lot of joy. Tanjiro has impressed Tengen Uzui by defending his whole team and saving his own self during the training. Of course, he progresses to the next stage. This time, Tanjiro will train with Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji. Meanwhile Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, who also accompanied Tanjiro during the Swordsmith Village Arc, continues to focus on his swordsmanship. While he has mellowed down thanks to Tanjiro, Muichiro went back to being his cold self in the last episode and that glimpse is what will be elaborated on this time around.
Tanjiro’s wounds from Swordsmith Village Arc are healed and he got back to training. The youngling is impressive already, after nearly just getting out of deathbed. Not following the manga (thus the episode was called a filler), the makers united Tanjiro with Uzui and his three wives. Tanjiro was with a team that he protected during the training, while also ensuring that he doesn’t get hurt in the process. This won Uzui and his wives, who worked in healing everyone by providing them with delicious and nutritious food.
While the focus was on Tanjiro and Uzui for the most part, the makers also gave the viewers a glimpse of Muichiro. More importantly, Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro and Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa, who played an important part in the first episode, have decided that they will go all out among themselves because they have not been able to find someone who matches their range. With that, we know that every Hashira is training to beat the ultimate demon Muzan Kibutsuji to their best capacity. Muzan’s goal is to devour Tanjiro’s sister Nezuko in order to become immortal (he can even go out in the sun, apart from the eternal life any demon lives, if he gets Nezuko’s powers).
Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc is available on both Netflix and Jio Cinema in India (and Crunchyroll for anime lovers across the globe). The episodes are out on the platforms at 11.15 pm on Sundays.
