Delulu: Shabna Mohammed's movie with Anurag Kashyap and Rima Kallingal to release soon

Film writer Shabna Mohammed is all set to make her directorial debut with Delulu, which also stars Anurag Kashyap and Rima Kallingal. Though much is not known about the upcoming Malayalam film, Delulu is set to release soon, it has been confirmed. Here’s everything that we know about Delulu

Delulu to release soon

Filmmaker-editor Saiju Sreedharan, best known for his directorial debut Footage with Manju Warrier, took to Instagram on Thursday to confirm that Delulu will be releasing soon. However, he did not give any more details about the exact date but shared the poster of Delulu with the caption ‘#DeluluMalayalamMovie Coming Soon’.

For the unversed, Saiju Sreedharan had earlier teamed up with Shabna Mohammed for co-writing the thriller film, Footage, which starred Manju Warrier along with Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok.

Noted Bollywood filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap and Rima Kallingal are set to play the lead roles in this film along with Remya Nambeesan, and Nikhila Vimal. The rest of the cast also includes Daveed Prakkat, and Chandu Salimkumar.

This is not the first time Shabna Mohammed and Anurag Kashyap would be collaborating on a film together. Saiju Sreedharan and Shabna Mohammed’s Footage also saw Anurag Kashyap coming on board as a presenter.

Anurag Kashyap on Malayalam cinema

On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap recently made his Malayalam acting debut with Aashiq Abu’s Rifle Club which boasts an ensemble cast with names such as Vijayaraghavan, Dileesh Pothan, Darshana Rajendran, Vani Viswanath, Hanumankind, and Surabhi Lakshmi. 

The film, which was released in theatres on December 19, 2024, has also been registering good numbers at the box office despite Unni Mukundan’s Marco raking in big collections.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Anurag Kashyap was all praise for the Malayalam film Manjummel Boys , directed by Chidambaram. The ace filmmaker, known for Gangs of Wasseyur, among others, said that such a movie will never be made in Bollywood as the Hindi film industry is obsessed with making remakes.
