Deepika Padukone: The Shah Rukh Khan I know at the current moment is at inner peace

It's been more than 15 years since Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut with Om Shanti Om (2007). In the film, she was paired with Shah Rukh Khan, who also co-produced it. Since then, her best films, Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, and now Pathaan, have all starred SRK as the male lead.

During an interaction with India Today, when Deepika was asked what connection she has to him, the actor stated that it's challenging to put into words what makes it so unique. Respect, trust, love, security, and vulnerability serve as their foundation. They undoubtedly share the enchantment that audiences experience when they are on a film together. It's a result of her gratitude toward him.

Deepika was paired opposite SRK without an audition, and that too in a double role, fifteen years ago, by a superstar like him who had incredible faith in a rank outsider with no prior experience or connection to the film industry. The wonderful thing about their relationship is that they can express whatever they need to say to each other with just a handshake or embrace.

When asked how far Shah Rukh has come in the last fifteen years, Deepika responded that she knows SRK is content with himself right now. The younger generation needs to learn patience.

Soon after the success of Pathaan, the team hosted the film's success event, which was attended by the whole cast, media, and fans. During the only event, Shah Rukh stated that he could tell that everyone wanted the movie to do well for him. Talking about the same, Deepika told the portal that everyone shared the same motivation to see this man, a prominent figure in popular culture, succeed. Yet another factor that motivates her to want the best for him is her bond with SRK.

She wanted the movie to succeed so that his family and his career would both benefit. One's aim must be sincere in order for the movie to succeed. They secretly hoped and prayed that everything would work out, and there's no reason for this. She explained to Shah Rukh and his wife, Gauri Khan, that these are the benefits and love that are returning.

Speaking about the vibe on the sets of Pathaan, Deepika said that being fully present is challenging in the modern world because there are so many distractions. There was some seriousness and duty involved because they were shooting a major action movie with a patriotic theme, but it didn't stop them from occasionally having fun. There are many innocent moments when SRK and she are together. With each other, they are able to be completely open and vulnerable.
