After making her Hollywood debut with xXx: Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel, Deepika Padukone has signed another project in the West. The film is set to be a cross-cultural romantic comedy in which the actor will not only be playing the leading lady but also co-producing it. The actor's first venture as a producer under her home banner Ka Productions is Chhapaak which was released in 2020.
Meanwhile, talking about the project, Deepika confirmed it in a statement by talking about the aim of her production house which is to 'develop and produce purposeful content with global appeal'. The actor has partnered with STXfilms and Temple Hill Productions for the forthcoming project. She is 'looking forward to bringing impactful and dynamic cross-cultural stories to the world'.
Meanwhile, Adam Fogelson, who is the chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group said, "While she has been a phenomenal success in many Eros International films, we are thrilled to be building a romantic comedy with her and our friends at Temple Hill."
About the film, Adam revealed this project will give them the opportunity to tap into the 'spirit, voice, characters and vibrant settings of India and New York'. He added that it will be like Crazy Rich Asians feel which was so authentic and fresh.
Currently, Deepika has several projects in her kitty and she is indeed one of the busiest actors in the country. The actor will next be seen in Kabir Khan's 83 in which she is paired opposite her husband and actor Ranveer Singh.
DP recently wrapped the shoot of the Shakun Batra directorial which also features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. Deepika also has The Intern wherein she is reuniting with her Piku co-star and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.
