Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday starrer Gehraiyaan trailer launch cancelled; here's why

The title and release date of Shakun Batra's long-awaited film, starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa, were announced more than a week ago. The film, titled Gehraiyaan, will be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022. The film's teaser was also well received by the audience. The film's trailer was set to be released in Alibaug this week, according to the producers. However, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country, they have decided not to proceed with it.

On Sunday, over 8000 cases were reported in Mumbai. Keeping everyone's safety in mind, the filmmakers decided not to hold a big event to launch the film's trailer. While the event has been cancelled, the filmmakers have promised that the trailer will be released soon and that the film will be released on its scheduled date. 

Amazon Prime Video stated in an official statement that due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, they have decided to take a different approach for the trailer release of their upcoming title, Gehraiyaan. The streaming platform will not hold the trailer launch in Alibaug as previously planned. They are, however, excited to bring the trailer to the fans.

Shakun Batra, the film's director, previously spoke about the film, stating that Gehraiyaan, for him, is not just a movie. He called it a journey into the complexities of human relationships, a reflection of modern adult relationships, how one navigates the maze of feelings and emotions, and how each step, each decision one makes affects their lives and the lives of those around them. 

Batra is ecstatic to have embarked on this adventure with the incredible team at Dharma Productions, the incredibly talented cast and crew, and now the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. He believes audiences will strongly relate to this film, and he eagerly awaits reactions from audiences all over the world.

Gehraiyaan is a relationship drama produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Shakun Batra's Jouska Films. It delves into the depths of complex modern relationships, adulting, letting go, and taking control of one's life path.
