Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is one of the most promising actors in the film industry. To add to the charm, the 37-year-old often takes limelight with her beauty. Crediting her mother for her flawless skin and career, Deepika Padukone today revealed the mantra behind her success.

In an article shared by 82°E — a self-care brand launched by Deepika Padukone; it states that the megastar is highly influenced by her mother Ujjala’s skincare routine.

Deepika Padukone believes, “Growing up, like every young girl, I was hugely influenced by my mother. Watching my mother practice, her ‘less is more’ skincare routine rubbed off on me too and continues to be my go-to skincare routine. It is also the philosophy that defines all of the skincare products we create at 82°E.”

To the skincare brand, Deepika Padukone also reveals that she had no understanding of proper skincare practices in her formative years.

She told 82°E, “I’m not sure how many of you are aware but I was a professional badminton player until the age of 16. And even though badminton is an indoor sport, I spent a lot of my time training outdoors in the sun and traveling in harsh weather conditions. During these formative years, I had no real understanding of skincare or good practices for my skin health. All I did was wash my face with water. No cleansing. No hydrating. And definitely no sunscreen.”

Deepika later mentions how she noticed changes in her skin and sought help from a dermatologist. “It was only in my twenties after I began my modelling and acting career, that I noticed changes in my skin: sunspots, freckles, and pigmentation began to appear, and I started to understand the importance of taking care of my skin. With the realization that I needed to do more than just ‘wash my face with water’ came my Cleanse, Hydrate, and Protect routine. I’ve found it to be the simplest yet effective routine I’ve practiced. And for anything more complex, I've sought the advice of a dermatologist.”

On the work front, the first glimpse of Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been released. It is slated to be released theatrically next year.
