With films like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan and now Jawan, it is clear that the onscreen chemistry between actors Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan is loved by people globally. Not even a single film, in which they were paired opposite each other, turned out to be a flop at the box office. Instead, the duo continues to shatter box-office records with time.
While January’s release Pathaan minted over Rs 1,000 crores globally, September’s release Jawan is also on its way to surpass this feat. As of date, Jawan has entered the Rs 650 crore club, grossing Rs 20.12 crore worldwide on Wednesday.
What did Deepika Padukone say about Shah Rukh Khan recently?
As Jawan’s box-office numbers continue to create new records regularly, Deepika Padukone has expressed in detail what makes her equation with Shah Rukh Khan so special.
In a recent interview with The Week, the Padmaavat (2018) actress said, “We are each other's lucky charm. But honestly, we are beyond lucky. We have a sense of ownership over each other.” Mentioning the “great trust and respect” they have for each other, Deepika further highlights that she is “one of the few people he is vulnerable with”.
“There is so much trust and respect, and I think that luck is just the cherry on the top,” she said.
Pathaan broke box-office records this year. What does Deepika Padukone feel about it?
“I’ve never been fascinated by numbers whether it was Maths in school or the numbers of Pathaan. I was just happy that cinemas had come alive again, that people had come alive again. I was really grateful for that,” the Gehraiyaan (2022) actress said to the news portal.
On the professional front, Deepika is looking forward to a couple of projects. The 37-year-old Bollywood diva will next star opposite Prabhas in Kalki 2898 AD, a bilingual science fiction film created by filmmaker Nag Ashwin.
She will also feature in an action film directed by Siddharth Anand, named Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan.
