In the most delightful news, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have announced their pregnancy. The couple shared the happy news on their social media pages and also announced that the baby will be arriving in September 2024. This has been one of the most anticipated news among the fans of DeepVeer, and for the past few weeks, speculation has been on. Since her BAFTA 2024 appearance, it has been reported that Deepika is indeed pregnant, and the announcement may happen any time soon.
Well, over more than a decade of their togetherness, including five years of marital bliss, Deepika and Ranveer have spoken about their love for babies and growing together as a family too. As the good news is finally here, let's take a look at times when DeepVeer spoke about all things babies and embracing parenthood.
Deepika was asked in 2013 during a round table discussion with Rajeev Masand what she would do if acting wasn't her thing. The actor had said that if she hadn't been an actor, she would've been completely lost. She also said that, with any luck, though, there are at least three small children scuttling about. Having a happy family is her number one priority, and she hopes to be able to earn enough money to take them during her shoots. Plus, she is still going about her business as usual.
Married in Italy in 2018, Deepika and Ranveer first crossed paths on the sets of 2013's Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. Ranveer was asked about starting a family during the India Economic Conclave, which he attended shortly after his marriage. He stated that, honestly, it's not his decision. While he does have some say, it's primarily her decision, and he respects her call. Most of the time, Ranveer lets Deepika decide what to do because she's fantastic at everything. She said, "Do we intend on having children? Of course we do; we both love kids. But do we intend to have children anytime soon? Absolutely not! We’re too selfishly focused on our careers, and I don’t think having kids at this point would be fair. We’re not even thinking about kids."
But by 2021, two years after Deepika's declaration, it appeared the couple was prepared to have a family, as Ranveer expressed his enthusiasm for the prospect on his TV show, The Big Picture. The actor had quipped in Hindi that they plan to start a family in the next two or three years. He added that his wife, Deepika, was the cutest little baby ever. Just give him one like her, he tells himself as he peruses her newborn pictures daily.
Earlier this year, in January, Deepika discussed the dangers of becoming obsessed with one's own success in an interview with Vogue Singapore.
