Debutant to play lead role in Nadishah’s Once Upon a Time in Kochi; here’s more about the film

Director and screenplay writer Rafi’s son, Mubin M Rafi, is playing the lead in Nadirshah’s upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Kochi. The first poster of the film was released by its makers. The film is produced by Kalandoor under the banner of Kalandoor Entertainments.

The screenplay is written by Rafi, who is known for his directorial works Ring Master and Voice Of Sathyanathan. Nadirshah and Rafi are working together for the first time.

Arjun Ashokan and Shine Tom Chacko are also acting in lead roles in this comedy thriller. According to reports, the movie will be a family entertainer. Makal and Njan Prakashan fame Devika Sanjay is playing the female lead in this film.

Hesham Abdul Wahab is composing the music for Once Upon a Time in Kochi. Shaji Kumar is handling the camera work and editing will be done by Shameer Muhammad. Cylex Abraham is the project designer, and Arun Manohar is designing the costumes.

Though the makers have not announced an exact date for theatrical release, they have revealed that the film will hit the big screen soon.

Rafi and Mecartin duo, who created some of the most iconic Malayalam films, including Punjabi House, Thenkasipattanam, and Puthukkottayile Puthumanavalan, are praised for their ability to masterfully blend humour and heart.

Shine Tom Chacko will appear in Iyer Kanda Dubai, Aaraam Thirukalpana, Velleppam, and Vivekanandan Viralaanu in the coming year. According to reports, the actor will also act in Jr NTR’s Devara in Telugu. Meanwhile, Arjun Ashokan will play prominent roles in Jayaram’s Abraham Ozler and Mammootty’s Bramayugam.

Nadirshah’s sixth directorial

Mimicry artist and actor Nadirshah made his directorial debut with Amar Akbar Anthony, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jayasurya, and Indrajith Sukumaran, in 2015. His films, Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan and Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan (streaming on Amazon Prime and Disney+ Hotstar, respectively), also received good reception from the audience. Jayasurya’s Eesho was his recent film, which was released on SonyLiv in 2022.
