DeAr is an upcoming Tamil film, starring actor-composer GV Prakash and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles. The film is directed by Anand Ravichandran and is set to hit big screens on April 11. The film revolves around a newly married couple whose lives get disturbed due to the wife’s snoring problem. It is to be noted that the plot rings a bell and reminds one of the 2023 hit film Good Night, starring Manikandan and Meetha Ragunath, which also deals with a husband’s snoring issue coming in between a couple.
DeAr is set to release on April 11 along with another romantic comedy Romeo, starring Vijay Antony and Mirnalini Ravi. Coincidentally, both films belong to the same genre and revolve around newly married couples. DeAr will mark the first time GV Prakash and Aishwarya Rajesh will be sharing the screen space.
It revealed GV Prakash will be playing a newsreader, and is a light sleeper. However, his life gets upended when he gets married to a girl who snores loudly in the night. This causes a rupture in their marital life. The film is expected to have a fair share of drama, romance and comedy.
The trailer of DeAr was released a few days ago. The film, touted to be a family romantic drama, is produced by Varun Tripuraneni, Abhishek Ramisetty, and G Pruthviraj. The trailer was narrated by cricketer Ashwin Ravichandran, with Kaali Venkat playing the elder brother. Rohini plays the role of the mother, while Ilavarasu and Geetha Kailasam play the girl's parents.
Written and directed by Anand Ravichandran, GV Prakash will also double up as composer of the film. DeAr is shot by cinematographer Jagadeesh Sundaramurthy, with Rukesh handling the edits. Pragatheeswaran is the art director of the film.
The makers have not revealed the streaming platform, which has bagged the post-theatrical rights of the film. The film is expected to come on OTT after completing its theatrical run, approximately four weeks after its release in theatres.
