With every passing day as we move closer to July 26, it feels like we are reaching a milestone that we have been waiting for years now. Deadpool & Wolverine, aka Deadpool 3, releases in a fortnight, and there is no way we are keeping calm because we have anticipated this day for years, and it is finally happening for real. The movie, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the lead, has held all of us in a chokehold, and there is no way it is planning to free us until we have seen the movie. While it marks the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut for both actors, the movie is super stuffed with all things Marvel because it works as the bugle for the X-Men to enter the MCU and Avengers 5 and 6. But that doesn't mean the movie is going to be the longest Deadpool movie. It is equal to Deadpool 2, actually.
Yes, you read that right. If the latest reports are anything to go by, the makers of Deadpool & Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy, have clearly not believed in making the film longer to scatter the gazillion confirmed and rumored cameos in a lengthier runtime. Rather, they have made the runtime crisper, and it seems like there is a rollercoaster ride planned for us. Yes, you read that right. The final runtime of the Marvel movie has been revealed, and it is much shorter than what was revealed in the past. Read on to know everything about the same.
As per Comic Book Movie, the final runtime of Deadpool & Wolverine is 2 hours, 7 minutes, and 45 seconds, including the credits and the much-spoken-about post-credit scenes. This means the main film falls in a runtime of 1 hour and 59 minutes, which means the film is just a bit longer than Deadpool 2, which was entirely 1 hour and 59 minutes. The interesting part is that Shawn Levy has teased rumors of gazillion cameos and storylines. It will be fun to see how he accommodates everything in the crisp runtime.
Meanwhile, a new official synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has been dropped by the studio. “Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date - Deadpool & Wolverine," reads the new synopsis. "A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit up again with an even more reluctant... reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to - Fck. Synopses are so fcking stupid.”
The film has been given an R-rating by the MPAA for "Strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore, and sexual references." It stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool alongside Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine, and Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Rob Delaney as Peter, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. The movie also has Emma Corrin joining the MCU as Cassandra Nova and Succession's Matthew Macfadyen as a TVA Agent.
