DD Returns star Santhanam announces his next, reveals cast and crew details from dubbing studio

Santhanam, who has had DD Returns and Kick in 2023, is busy doing back-to-back projects. While the former, a horror comedy, turned out to be a surprise hit, the latter, a rom-com, ended up as a dud. The actor announced a while ago that his forthcoming film would be Vadakkupatti Ramasamy.

The makers are yet to reveal its promos and release plans. Billed as a fun-filled entertainer, it has fantasy elements, too. The star was in the news recently when Zee5 announced that DD Returns garnered 250M streaming minutes on the platform.

Santhanam announces his next from a dubbing studio

He surprised one and all by making an announcement about his upcoming film, the dubbing work for which has begun now. He also posted a pic from the studio along with the untitled movie's producer GN Anbu Chezhiyan. It marks the producer's fifth outing and Santhanam expressed excitement on teaming up with him.

N Anand of India Pakistan has helmed the film which has Manobala, Thambi Ramaiah, Vivek Prasanna, Bala Saravanan and Munishkanth among others essaying key roles. Om Narayan and Thiyagarajan have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the project.

Santhanam's new avatar missed by a whisker

The actor has been doing only hero-centric films for quite some time. He was roped in to play an interesting role in AK 62 which was supposed to be helmed by Vignesh Shivan. Ajith was the protagonist in the project which was expected to go on floors earlier this year.

However, the film was dropped owing to creative differences between the makers. Fans of Santhanam, who were eager to watch him essay a different character after a long hiatus, were disappointed.
