BTS' Suga has been making headlines since August 6 over the DUI incident. The member issued two apologies so far, and more recently, he appeared at the Yeonsan police station in Seoul (August 23) regarding the case. Min Yoon-gi made his first public appearance at the police station since his military enlistment. At his concert, Psy remembered the Daechwita (Suga as AgustD) singer.
Psy and Yoongi had collaborated for the song That That. During his concert last night, before performing the song, Psy thanked Suga for his contribution. "Thank you, Suga, for making this song and working with me," Psy said at the concert.
Suga arrived at the Yeonsan police station, which marked his first public appearance since military enlistment. After issuing two apologies on his WeVerse account, Suga made another public apology outside the police station before recording his statement with the cops. Like both the times, he expressed regret over disappointing the fans and public. A lot of reporters present asked Yoongi why he did not appear on August 7 instead, but by that point, Suga left to record his statement.
A video of Suga from August 6 made rounds of the internet and went viral instantly. It saw the singer on a seated electric kickboard. Suga wore a helmet and drove at the pathway, with three patrolling officers patrolling the area. When Yoongi took a turn outside of his house, he fell with his scooter and helmet both. Suga picked up the scooter and himself, but just as he was about to retrieve his helmet, the patrolling officers took the rapper-singer's breathlyzer test. Once it was confirmed that Suga's alcohol levels were high, his driving license got suspended. In his apology, Suga mentioned that he was not aware about the rule and thus, broke it unintentionally, but took responsibility instead of giving excuses.
While many fans (ARMY) have shown their immense support, Suga and BTS had to face a lot of wrath as well. There was a demand to remove Yoongi from BTS, and wreaths were placed outside of HYBE (BTS' management agency) building. The latest controversy was over Suga driving a kickboard without a license plate. The same was addressed during Suga's interrogation with the police.
As per K-media, the police stated that the investigation in Suga's case had concluded, while adding that he wouldn't be called to the police station again. After consulting the ministry of land, they also confirmed that the kickboard which Suga rode did not require a number plate.
