Dawsham Awbotaar: Srijit Mukherji, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and others launch the logo

It was a star-studded morning on Thursday at Basubati in North Kolkata as SVF launched the grand logo of their Puja release, Dawsham Awbotaar. Along with the director Srijit Mukherji, the huge star cast, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jaya Ahsan, Jisshu U Sengupta and Anirban Bhattacharya, and DOP Soumik Halder were spotted at the event. The music directors, Anupam Roy and Indraadip Dasgupta, and singer Rupam Islam were also part of the grand launch. All the cast and crew members were seen in denim and white shirts/ kurta.  

The venue – Basubati – is the same location where the popular last scene of Baishey Srabon was shot. Billed as a cop universe, Dawshom Awbotaar evokes the nostalgia of Baishe Srabon. Police officer Probir Roy Chowdhury, played by Prosenjit Chatterjee, in the 2011 thriller, will meet DCDD Bijoy Poddar of Vinci Da – a 2029 thriller in this cop drama. The shooting started on July 20.    

Earlier, Subhashree Ganguly was scheduled to play the female lead in the film. However, along with her husband, Raj Chakraborty, the actress announced their second pregnancy. Later, the filmmaker admitted that his team reached out to a number of other actresses and finally Jaya was picked for the character.
