Nani, who was going through a lull phase with both his OTT releases V and Tuck Jagadish biting the dust, reinvented himself impressively for the reincarnation drama Shyam Singha Roy, where he was paired alongside Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty. The film directed by Rahul Sankrityan earned decent profits for the producers and garnered many eyeballs post the OTT release on Netflix too. Now, the actor, whose next release is Ante Sundaraniki, is prepping up big time for the action entertainer Dasara directed by debutant Srikanth Odela.
Dasara is going to be a special film for the star for many reasons. The first among them being the fact that it will be the first pan Indian film in his career and will hit theatres in five languages simultaneously - including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Sudhakar Cherukuri is bankrolling the film under Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas. Spark of Dasara, the first look of the actioner, where he's reuniting with his Nenu Local co-star Keerthy Suresh, was unveiled yesterday.
Appearing in a lungi-clad avatar, Nani is at his rustic best in the poster and the video released by the makers. He is even lighting a beedi and there's fire on the screen as soon as he starts smoking. In the Spark Of Dasara video, Nani walks alongside his gang in Singareni Mines and is swag personified with his aggression. The powerful background score by Santhosh Narayanan sets the tone well for the film.
In the film, Nani appears to be cast in an action-packed role as a daily-wage labourer at Singareni Coal Mines in Godavarikhani. The star has always been known for his impressive choice of scripts through his career and a film on these lines, where he's truly testing his limits as a performer, augurs well for him and has fans as well. Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar and Zarina Wahab too essay crucial roles in the film which has cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan ISC. Navin Nooli is on board as an editor while Avinash Kolla is the production designer. Vijay Chaganti is the executive producer.
