Actor-filmmaker Darling Krishna’s last release was the PC Sekhar directed Love Birds, way back in February and although his films like Sugar Factory, Love Me or Hate Me and Kousalya Supraja Rama have been ready for release, there’s been no word, until today. A little while ago, director Shashank Talya, the man behind Krishna’s Kousalya Supraja Rama, posted a video featuring him, the actor and his wife Milana Nagaraj, as they discuss the release date of the film.
The fun video, has Krishna and Milana poking fun at the director when he mumbles the release date in the former’s ear and then again when he insists that build-up and hype should not be around a movie, but in it and that simplicity and honesty in promotions always wins.
On July 1 at 4.05 pm, Shashank will reveal the release plan of Kousalya Supraja Rama, which he was earlier hoping to have in theatres in June-July. The film will, most likely, be an August release, considering that the next big movie is Raj B Shetty’s Toby, which releases on August 25. In an earlier conversation with OTTplay, Shank had explained that the film is a family entertainer, that explores what a real man should be like from the perspective of women. “Kousalya Supraja Rama has a love story and Krishna is paired with Brinda Acharya, but the crux of the narrative revolves around the mother-son relationship – between Kousalya, played by Sudha Belawadi, and Rama (Krishna). I believe that Sudha’s character in the film will be her best to date. She plays the title role and her character is pivotal to the narrative,” he had said.
So far, in terms of promotional material, Shashank has released three songs – Shivani, Preethisuve and the title track– all of which have been well received, especially the former, which has become an Instagram reel special.
